Humble Beginings

It’s hard to imagine that everything started in 1926 with pastries and mayonnaise. Mildred Dalton was quite the cook. So much in fact that her husband, Jessie Otis Dalton, sold her fresh pastries in his one-room grocery store in Fort Worth. Mildred found herself going through a lot of egg whites making meringues. Never being one to waste, she decided to use the remaining yolks to make homemade mayonnaise. Her mayo became a huge hit at Jessie Otis’ store.
